I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of New Jersey. I obtained a Masters degree in Counseling from Nyack College. Currently, I work as a Crisis Clinician in a hospital setting. My main experience is assessing chronic mental health issues, psychosis, crisis intervention, mood disorders and self-injury behaviors. I’m passionate about working with teens and young adults but also focus on couples, adults and their families. For many years I’ve worked with children, adolescents and their families with the Department of Children’s Services, especially with foster care, in-home counseling and family reunification.
I mostly incorporate the Eclectic Model and use variety of approaches according to your personal needs. I mainly utilize the Family Focused Strength Based Model, which proposes that individuals have great capacity for growth. I explore how my client adapted to past circumstances and then help them with issues in the present. Focusing on strengths rather than deficits can motivate change.
I hope my background, training and compassion to help benefits you. I believe that each client is different, therefore therapy will be different for every client. My goal is to relate to you in an authentic fashion while being culturally sensitive to your needs. I provide services in Spanish if requested.
